Thrifty Shopper

I saw this blog on my cousin Maggie's blog page, maggielizabeth.blogspot.com, and I just had to post it on mine too. Maggie always finds the best stuff at Goodwill and other thrift stores, but all I ever find is junk. So, my thrify treasures are not hidden jewels at your local thrift store, my thrifty finds are just bargains I find on random shopping trips. The outfit below came from a compilation of different stores. The jeans are American Eagle that I found at Hammer's for $10, the shirt is from Gap $3, the cute little grey thing(I don't know exactly what to call it) was also a Gap find $5, and the scarf is Gap as well, $2. Cute $20 dollar outfit, don't you think? I love it! I also wear it all the time.

These sunglasses were also a pretty thrifty find if you ask me. I found them this week at Factory Connection for $5. I was inspired to get a big pair of shades after Maggie bought some cute ones!

These little flip flops I found at Old Navy for $10. I don't know if that's all that great of a bargain, but I really like them so I wanted to show them off.

As I have been posting this blog and thinking about all my thrifty finds, a lot of other things are coming to mind that I have found for my house but I guess I will save them for next time. So, some back and look for them, you don't want to miss them. Tell me what you think of my thrifty finds, and I would love to hear what you have bought!

Home Sweet Home

Hello again. Whew! I have had a busy few days. For those of you that may not know, Zac and I own a house that we have for sale in Prattville. Since spring is rolling around, we decided to go to the house one day and clean up outside. I had planned on re-vamping my flower beds, but Zac has some more manual labor in mind! I ended up raking leaves for about 4 hours, and let me say my hands are still sore 3 days later. I finally got to work in my flower beds, and I was so excited, but by the time I got started I was so tired that I could not even enjoy my flower planting! I pressed on, and they ended up so cute. I am sorry to say that I do not have pictures of the work because by the time I finished it was dark. When the day was done Zac and I had raked the whole front yard and bagged up a total of 24 bags of leaves, I finally re-vamped my flower beds, and Zac cut the grass. I hope all our hard work gives the house some fresh curb appeal to make a sale! We came back to our Boaz home and I went to work the next 2 days. I had been fighting off a sinus infection and I was getting better until I got in the middle of all the stirred up spring allergens in our yard. So, for the 2 days I worked I sniffled over all my patients all day. Now, I am glad for a few days off to rest and kick the sniffles. Here are some pictures of our house. Sorry, I dont have any of my cute flowers, but I hope you enjoy looking at my house. Let me know what you think of it!

Welcome

Welcome everyone to Natalie's Fried Green tomato! As the first post of my blog, I thought it would make sense to tell you all what this blog will be about. I chose to name the blog Natalie's Fried Green Tomato because fried green tomatoes are one of my absolute favorite things, and that is what my blog will be about, my favorite things. Making the list of my favorite things will be of course my husband, my family, church activities, interesting outings with friends and family, decorating ideas for my house, recipes, scrapbooking ideas, and some occasional fashion posts. I hope this blog is enjoyable for myself and everyone else that may look at it or follow it, and I hope it serves as a virtual scrapbook for my friends and family. As I create this blog I think about what all I will post in the future and what is interesting about me, and it occurred to me that my greatest role in this life is being a Christian and so my blog will relfect the same. So be on the look out for posts that may be about God's love and work, because that tops my lists of interests. I will leave you with this, "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden." Matthew 5:14
